A1 to partner in major National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) Renewable Power Project |
A groundbreaking ceremony for the new NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) Research Support Facility took place on October 30, 2007. Along with that was an announcement of two major renewable power projects at the Department's National Renewable Energy Lab. The new Research Support Facility promises to be one of the most "green" buildings ever constructed and the Renewable Fuel Heating Plant will use biomass to cut NREL's future natural gas use by 75%. |
This plant will use an Energy Savings Performance Contract with a third party provider, Ameresco Energy Services Co. In partnership with Ameresco, A1 Organics has signed a contract to provide all the biomass fuel for the heating plant. A1 Organics is proud to be a part of this exciting project in Colorado, and we look forward to helping NREL further President Bush's desire to increase the use of clean, renewable energy and maximize energy efficiency across the federal government. For more information, go to NREL's news release webpage. |
